Test av Rapha Brevet Insulated jakke.

En isolerende vindjakke med større potensial.

Rapha er kjent for å lage kvalitetstøy for oss syklister. Brevet Insulated er som navnet sier en jakke med isolerende egenskaper. Dette blir som en veldig tynn dunjakke, med kunstfiber isolering (resirkulert Polartec Alpha) over fronten av armene, bryst, mage, rygg og skuldre. På baksiden av armene og ned langs siden av kroppen er det myk, børstet jersey.

Jakken er DVR behandlet, noe som gjør at den tåler litt lett regn uten å bli våt.
Polartec materialet isolerer overraskende godt til å være såpass tynt. Men den gode isoleringen mister sin funksjon når yttermaterialet ikke er vindtett. På vindstille dager virker jakken helt vindtett, men når det blåser merker vi at vinden sniker seg inn gjennom glidelås i front og andre deler av jakken. Jeg vil påstå at jakken er 90% vindtett. Jersey materialet er naturligvis ikke vindtett, dette er med på å gjøre jakken til en vår- og høstjakke som fungerer best når det er et par plussgrader. Jeg har vært ute på korte turer i minus 4 med denne jakken og en tynn fleece under. Man merker naturligvis at jakken ikke vindtett over det hele, men jeg kan ikke si at jeg frøs av den grunn. Derimot er ikke dette et temperaturområde jakken er laget for.

Passformen er racing og jeg som normalt bruker en S i jakker, måtte opp i en L her. Jeg kunne valgt M, men ønsket muligheten til å bruke en tynn ull eller fleece under. Ermene er uansett lange og beskytter godt rundt håndleddet.

Jakken har ganske solide reflekser og glidelåsen i front går begge veier. Det betyr at du kan trekke opp glidelåsen fra bunn for bedre utlufting i lange klatringer.

På ryggen er det to store lommer. Og med store, mener vi store. De største lommene jeg noensinne har sett på en slik sykkeljakke. Her er det plass til mye. Rapha har løst dette med sideveis inngang på begge sider og lommene har glidelås. For meg, som ofte sykler til og fra jobb, gjør dette at jeg kan ditche ryggsekken oftere enn hva jeg er vant med.

Prisen på Rapha sin nettbutikk er litt over 2.000,- Det er en helt grei pris. Det er i det øvre sjiktet, ja, men man får en godt produsert jakke med gode egenskaper. Jeg kunne godt brukt denne jakken på Enebakk Rundt eller Asker Rundt hvis temperaturen er under 6°. Selv i regnvær.

Men jakken mener jeg ikke utnytter sitt fulle potensial. Ytterstoffet burde vært vindtett. Da hadde bruksområdet til jakken blitt større etter min mening.

En jakke du ganske greit kan overse etter min mening. Dette er et av de få Rapha plaggene som har skuffet litt.
