Skotrekk er obligatorisk i en enhver syklist sin garderobe. Det finnes mange å velge mellom. Noen ganger holder det med tynne trekk, som gir litt vindbeskyttelse. Andre ganger er det lave temperaturer det skal beskyttes mot. Også er det naturligvis regnvær. I Norge er det gjerne slik at regnvær også betyr noe lavere temperaturer. Som syklist er det å bli våt på beina omtrent det samme som å bli kald. Det gjelder iallfall meg.
En god kandidat (i teorien) til regntrekk å kjøpe er disse fra Rapha. Wet Weather er medium tykke skotrekk som du trer over forten før du tar de over skoene.
Årsaken er følgende:
- Det sitter ganske tett og høyt på leggen. Dette er veldig viktig slik at vann ikke renner så lett nedi skoene.
- Trekkene tas først på foten for å dras over skoene. Dette sikrer at trekkene sitter tett over hele skoen.
- Trekkene kan brukes både på terrengsko og landeveissko på grunn av den åpne løsningen under.
- Kanten under skoen er laget av kraftig og slitesterkt stoff (kevlar materiale), som burde sikre god holdbarhet.
- Baksiden av trekkene må tåle en del da det er denne delen man drar i både når trekkene skal på og av foten. Og her er Rapha trekkene solide. En bonus er at hele den svarte stripen på baksiden er en refleks.
Wet Weather trekkene kommer i to farger: De lysende rosa vi tester, og en mer diskret svart.
Vi har brukt trekkene ned i minus grader, og også i noen få plussgrader i regnvær. Det må innrømmes at det enda ikke er syklet turer på flere timer i trekkene, men til de turene som er gjennomført har jeg holdt meg varm på beina. Og jeg er en som fryser lett på tærne. Dette er derimot ikke vintertrekk. Perfekt temperatur område er mellom 0° og 10-12°. Det er litt tricky å trekke de over hælen fordi de er stramme. Og det er flere ganger jeg har glemt å ta på trekkene før skoene fordi jeg er vant med å dra trekkene over skoene. Etter noen ganger har ermet blitt litt mer videre og enklere å trekke over foten, noe som kanskje kan bety at de mister den stramme følelsen over tid. Men vi får se.
Jeg liker trekkene og har ingen problemer med å anbefale de. Ja, de koster litt mye. Men de er solide laget, og vil forhåpentligvis holde hele sesongen både på landeveien og i skauen. Men de er ikke vanntette. De er lekre. De er vindtette og de isolerer fint. Men regnet kommer inn.
Jeg ser at noen sier de ikke er vanntette, men det er ikke min opplevelse og det stemmer med min oppdaterte opplevelse. Regner det vil vann renne nedover leggen og etterhvert sive inn i skoene. Det er ikke til å unngå. Det hjelper noen ganger, hvis du har på løse ben, å trekke bena over ermet for litt ekstra beskyttelse. Rapha burde ikke kalt disse trekkene wet weather.
Wet Weather skotrekkene kommer i flere størrelser. Vi bruker 42/43 i sko og en M passer perfekt. De skal sitte litt stramt over skoene, men ikke for stramt, da vil de ikke tette godt nok fra undersiden.
